- **Perplexity:** built around answers with linked sources; Pro adds deep research and lets you choose between models (its Pro page lists GPT-6.1 Sol, Gemini 3.8 Flash, Claude Sonnet 5.5, Kimi K3, GLM 5.3 and Grok 4.7); Max adds "expert level research" and frontier models.
- **ChatGPT:** deep research is limited on Free, expanded on Plus and at its maximum on Pro (chatgpt.com/pricing).
- Neither vendor publishes a deep-research count on the pages we read, so we do not give one.

Perplexity's free Standard plan gives "practically unlimited basic searches" and a "very limited amount of Pro Searches", with no advanced models or image generation.

## Business and enterprise seats

ChatGPT Business is $20 per user a month billed annually for 2+ users, or $25 billed monthly, with no training on business data by default ([Codex pricing doc](https://learn.chatgpt.com/docs/pricing.md)). Perplexity sells Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max; we did not confirm their per-seat prices on Nov 3, so we do not state them.
