> Dify 1.19.0, published November 4, 2026 (UTC), sends nested workflow traces to observability tools: per the release notes, "Child steps appear beneath the Tool span that invoked them, preserving the hierarchy across nested and repeated calls." Self-hosted installs now need Docker Compose 2.35.0 or later.

## What changed

- Nested workflow tracing: new external traces include the execution steps inside called Workflow Tools, shown beneath the invoking Tool span, with formatted LLM prompts and responses and token usage. Historical traces are not backfilled.
- Portable Workflow Tools: app exports (.ifpkg) now carry the workflows behind their Workflow Tools at their bound versions, and all app exports move to package format v2; older importers may reject v2 packages, while v1 imports still work.
- Agent files: multiple Agent configuration files can be uploaded in parallel, and PDFs, syntax-highlighted source files and Skill members can be previewed inline.
- Six new difyctl and OpenAPI commands manage workspace Skills (list, describe, list versions, export, import and publish); import does not publish and is classed as destructive when it overwrites an existing Skill.
- Self-hosting upgrade: Docker Compose 2.35.0 or later is now required, the bundled plugin daemon moves to 0.6.14-local, and rolling upgrades must route tracing to the new ops_trace_v2 queue while old ops_trace workers drain.

> "Import reuses tools already in the destination workspace and recreates, publishes, and registers missing ones, remapping their references."

## What we have not verified

- We did not run this release, the tracing integration or the difyctl Skill commands.
- The release notes show tracing in Langfuse; we did not check which other observability providers render the nested hierarchy.
- We did not test upgrading an existing self-hosted install or importing v2 packages into older Dify versions.
