> Phone Harness published an MIT-licensed MCP server, version 0.1.0 on October 23, 2026, that says it will "Give any MCP agent a real iPhone or an Android emulator in the cloud." Its README lists Android emulators at 5¢ per phone-minute and a cloud iPhone at $80 a month.

## What changed

- Version 0.1.0 was released on October 23, 2026 under the MIT license, as a hosted streamable HTTP server at mcp.phone-harness.com/mcp with OAuth sign-in or an API key.
- The README lists setup for Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, VS Code, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Zed and other MCP clients.
- The hosted server registers 14 phone tools: start and stop a phone, screenshot, list on-screen text, tap, long press, swipe, type, press buttons, and list or launch apps.
- Android emulators are free to start, then 5¢ per phone-minute; a cloud iPhone is a flat $80 a month, or $100 with an eSIM, with 20% off billed annually.
- It can also run locally over stdio with uvx, but every tool call still goes to Phone Harness Cloud; there is no tool to open a URL, install an app or record the screen.

## What we have not verified

- We did not connect the server or drive a phone with it.
- Pricing is as listed in the README and on the Phone Harness site on November 3, 2026; the site calls the cloud an open beta and rates may change.
- Claims on the homepage such as real phone numbers handling SMS and 2FA, and apps seeing a person, are the vendor's and were not checked.
