## Verdict

**Best for builders adding voice or music to products; the Video to Music API is the interesting new piece for creators.**

Good for:
- Developers building voice agents or translation features
- Creators who want an API that scores videos
- Teams moving from OpenAI Realtime clients

Skip if:
- You want a simple consumer music app (see Suno)
- You need Realtime Translation outside enterprise workspaces

Status: Reported. Written from official release notes and docs; we have not run this release ourselves.

Pricing: Not verified. We have not verified pricing for this tool; see the official site.

## Best for

- [Best AI tool for music](https://theagenticweekly.com/best/music) (#2): Video to Music API and Eleven Music tools; strongest for builders and video scoring.

## What's new

ElevenLabs' Oct 19 changelog adds Eleven Realtime models for voice agents, a Realtime Translation WebSocket API for enterprise workspaces, and a Video to Music API that scores your video.

- Eleven Realtime: a model family for ElevenAgents voice agents, with v1 Mini (default, fastest and cheapest) and v1 Max (reasons before answering). Existing OpenAI Realtime clients can connect by changing the endpoint and session configuration.
- Realtime Translation: speech in one language to speech in another while the speaker is still talking, via WebSocket, for enterprise workspaces.
- Video to Music: upload up to 10 videos (200 MB combined) and get a soundtrack; options include using the video's audio as reference, adding sound effects and returning separate tracks in a ZIP.
- ElevenAgents: alerts for error-rate thresholds, guardrails out of alpha, and new LLM options for agents.

## How to set it up: Score a video with the API

Steps come from the vendor's own pages or docs. We have not run them ourselves.

1. **Read the endpoint docs.** The Video to Music API reference lists request parameters and the response format.

2. **Send your videos.** Upload up to 10 video files (200 MB combined); they are joined in order and scored as one video. Add a text description and up to 10 style tags to steer the result.
3. **Choose options.** use_audio_as_reference takes genre, BPM, instruments and mood from the video's audio; add_sfx adds sound effects; separate_tracks returns music and effects as separate files.

## Pros and cons

Pros:
- Detailed, dated API changelog

- Music, speech and agents in one platform

Cons:
- Realtime Translation is enterprise-only
- Eleven Realtime is rolling out gradually
- Pricing not verified

## Alternatives

- [ACE-Step](https://theagenticweekly.com/tools/ace-step): Open-source (Apache-2.0) music generation foundation model you can run yourself.
