What changed
| # | What the source says | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | ElevenLabs' October 29, 2026 blog post introduces SFX v3, which it calls its newest sound effects model, generating sound effects from a text prompt. | Reported |
| 02 | The post says SFX v3 is better at following several instructions in one prompt, so more of the described sounds (for example a crowd cheering, a ball dropping and the crowd booing) make it into the generated audio. | Reported |
| 03 | ElevenLabs says SFX v3 improves generation for prompts that include music and vocals, so an effect can pair a musical phrase or vocal performance with environmental sounds. | Reported |
| 04 | The post says SFX v3 produces cleaner audio than SFX v2 in ElevenLabs' benchmark testing and is less likely to add harsh or crackly artifacts to sounds such as gongs, chimes and whistles. | Reported |
| 05 | SFX v3 is available now in ElevenCreative (the Sound Effects tab, Flows, Studio and the Music Editor), in the ElevenLabs mobile app, and for developers through ElevenAPI. | Reported |

In the source’s words
“It handles prompts that describe multiple sounds more reliably, generates music and vocals more convincingly, and produces cleaner, more natural audio than SFX v2 in benchmark testing.”
“Developers can access SFX v3 through ElevenAPI to bring sound effects generation into their own products and workflows.”
Early verdict
Video and game creators who build scenes from several layered sounds are the main audience: the upgrade targets multi-sound prompts and music or vocal effects, and developers can reach it through the existing API.
Basis: Based only on the capabilities and availability described in ElevenLabs' blog post; we have not used the model.
What we have not verified
- We did not generate any sound effects with SFX v3 or compare it with SFX v2.
- The post does not publish its benchmark results, so the quality claims are ElevenLabs' own.
- The post does not give pricing, credit costs, an API model ID or output limits; we did not check the API docs for them.
