Hugging Face LeRobot v0.7.0 adds interactive rollouts and disk-less dataset streaming
Hugging Face released LeRobot v0.7.0 on November 5, 2026. The blog says "The Hub now holds almost 300 TB of open Physical AI data in LeRobot format," and v0.7.0 lets you train from the Hub, a Storage Bucket or LanceDB without downloading first, plus interactive rollouts (--interactive=true) that change subtasks, ask VQA and autosteer while the robot runs.

What changed
| # | What the source says | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Major rebuild vs 0.6.1: installation, training, inference and the hardware layer all change (breaking); Linux torch now comes from PyPI as CUDA 13 (driver 580.65+), macOS needs 14+. | Reported |
| 02 | Disk-less streaming: train with --dataset.streaming=true from the Hub, Storage Buckets or LanceDB without downloading first; the Hub holds almost 300 TB of open Physical AI data in LeRobot format. | Reported |
| 03 | Interactive rollouts (--interactive=true): /subtask, /vqa and /autosteer while the robot runs, with optional external VLM planner over any OpenAI-compatible API. | Reported |
| 04 | World action models added (Cosmos 3, FLUX 3 Action, LaWAM, Long-WAM) plus new VLAs (G0.5, LingBot-VLA 2.0, DM0.5, Wall-OSS-0.5); training stack gains FSDP2/HSDP and replaces Weights & Biases with Trackio (--trackio.*). | Reported |
| 05 | Remote inference: lerobot-policy-server plus lerobot-rollout --inference.type=remote (replaces removed lerobot.async_inference / lerobot[async]). | Reported |
| 06 | Hardware: Unitree G1 SONIC whole-body controller, YAM, reBot B601; Feetech/Dynamixel move onto a rustypot SerialMotorsBus. | Reported |

“v0.7.0 rebuilds installation, training, inference and the hardware layer.”
What we have not verified
- We did not install LeRobot 0.7.0, run an interactive rollout, or stream a Hub dataset ourselves.
- Benchmark figures quoted in the blog for Cosmos 3, LaWAM, Long-WAM and others are upstream claims; we did not re-run them.
- Hardware support for Unitree G1 SONIC, YAM and reBot B601 was not tested on physical robots.
