Free plans: what each limits
- Granola Basic: meeting history is 30 days, AI chat runs on Auto only, and integrations beyond Slack are not included.
- Fireflies Free: AI summaries are limited, storage is 400 minutes for the whole team, AI credits are 20, and recordings stop at 2 hours.
Is Granola enterprise-grade for a startup?
Granola's Business plan gives centralized billing and user management; an admin can add and remove members and control who joins the workspace. SSO, SCIM, the audit API, HIPAA-compliant workspaces and workspace-wide policies are Enterprise-only, and Granola's FAQ says SSO is "available for enterprise workspaces with 50+ users". All plans list SOC 2 Type II certification and audio deleted after transcription. A small team that needs SSO before 50 users should ask Granola sales; Fireflies puts SSO + SCIM on Enterprise at $39 a seat, annual only.
How each captures meetings
- Granola: "Uses your computer audio, so doesn't invite a bot"; its plan table lists "Bot-free, device-audio capture" on every plan. It works with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams "and every other meeting app", with desktop, iOS, Android and Apple Watch apps.
- Fireflies: invite fred@fireflies.ai to a live meeting or have it auto-join your calendar meetings; its pricing table also lists recording through the Chrome extension "without Fireflies bot", and file uploads.
Integrations, API and MCP
Granola lists integrations with Zapier, Attio, Affinity, HubSpot, Slack and Notion, plus MCP (for Claude, ChatGPT and others) and API access; Salesforce-style advanced integrations are Enterprise-only. Fireflies includes all integrations on every plan and API access with published rate limits per plan. Fireflies' pricing page does not mention MCP, so we do not claim it.
Which to pick when
- Pick Granola if you dislike bots joining calls and want notes plus MCP and API access at $14 a user.
- Pick Fireflies if you want video recordings, analytics and a cheaper annual seat ($10 on Pro), and a bot is acceptable.
- Need SSO on a small team? Fireflies Enterprise has it with no stated seat minimum; Granola states a 50-user minimum.
- Other notetakers: Otter, Fathom and best meeting assistants.
