Lovable vs Replit: which AI app builder should you use? (October 2026)

Lovable and Replit both turn plain-language prompts into working apps, but they price differently: Lovable sells credit tiers (Pro from $25 a month for 100 credits), while Replit sells flat plans (Core $20 a month, Pro $100 a month) with included credits. Choose Lovable if you want a credit-based builder with code export and Git sync on every plan, and Replit if you want Agent, design and publishing in one workspace that also builds mobile apps and other artifacts. We have not run either tool, so this is Reported, not Tested.

Our pick: Pick Lovable for founders and small-business owners who want a site or app without writing code; pick Replit for builders who want an agent that also watches the app after launch. No overall winner: we have not benchmarked them against each other. Updated (America/Chicago).

Evidence: both tools are Reported. We have not run Lovable or Replit. Everything here comes from each vendor's pricing page and documentation, read on 2026-10-25. Neither vendor's output quality was compared, and AI-built apps should be reviewed and tested before real users rely on them.

What we measured

We have not run either Lovable or Replit ourselves yet, so nothing on this page is Tested; it is Reported from vendor and GitHub pages. Below is what we will run, so the comparison can rest on our own results.

What we ran, and what we did not

We have not run Lovable or Replit. They are labelled Reported on the Lovable and Replit pages. This comparison restates vendor documentation on pricing, plans and limits.

We make no claim about which builds better apps or how many credits a typical project uses. Credit consumption depends on the prompts, and neither vendor publishes a single number that fits every project.

How billing differs: credits vs plan fee

Lovable's docs say Pro and Business plans come in monthly credit tiers from 100 to 10,000 credits, billed monthly or annually, and that annual billing gives two months free. Pro tiers at monthly billing run $25 (100 credits), $50 (200), $100 (400) and $200 (800), up to $2,250 for 10,000. Business tiers start at $50 for 100 credits. Pro adds credit rollovers, on-demand top-ups and auto top-up.

Replit's pricing page lists two self-serve plans. Core is $20 a month ($18 billed annually) and includes up to 30 hours of chat on Free Mode, up to 60 projects on Free Mode and $20 towards more powerful models. Pro is $100 a month ($90 billed annually) with $100 towards the most powerful models, up to 15 collaborators and database rollback up to 28 days. Replit's docs add that monthly credits apply to paid services such as Agent, publishing, network transfer and database storage.

In short: Lovable meters the building itself in credits you buy in tiers; Replit charges a plan fee, includes a credit allowance and bills infrastructure such as publishing and databases by usage.

Pick Lovable if / pick Replit if

  • Pick Lovable if you want to buy building capacity in clear credit tiers, keep your code synced to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, and add team members without paying per seat (every plan allows unlimited workspace members).
  • Pick Replit if you want a flat $20 entry plan and a workspace that covers building, design and publishing, or you need more than web apps: Replit lists mobile apps, data visualizations, slide decks and animated videos as artifact types.
  • Pick Lovable if a student or teacher discount matters: Lovable offers 50% off Pro for up to 12 months for verified students and teachers.
  • Be careful with either if the app handles money or personal data: both vendors say AI output can be wrong, so review and test before launch.
  • Try both free tiers first on the same small project and note how many credits it took. We have not measured that.

Caveats worth knowing

  • Replit says on its pricing page that Agent "is powered by large language models" and that its behavior is probabilistic, so it may make mistakes.
  • Lovable's free daily credits stop for the rest of the month once the 30-credit cap is reached and resume on the 1st at 00:00 UTC.
  • Prices exclude taxes, vary with billing cycle and are subject to change. Enterprise pricing is by contract for both.
