Superset is now Paradev: parallel coding-agent app ships desktop v2.0.0 and an $11.5M seed
Superset, a desktop workspace for running Claude Code, Codex and other CLI coding agents in parallel, was renamed Paradev on Oct 26, 2026 with desktop release v2.0.0; the company says it raised an $11.5M seed led by Union Square Ventures, and that accounts, settings and the superset CLI command carry over unchanged.

What changed
- The company's announcement says Superset is now Paradev and that it raised an $11.5M seed round led by Union Square Ventures; the desktop app's v2.0.0 release notes list the change as a product rename and seed announcement.
- Per the announcement's FAQ, accounts, workspaces, settings, billing and contracts carry over, superset.sh links redirect to paradev.com, and the GitHub repository moves to github.com/paradevai/paradev with old links redirecting.
- The superset CLI command keeps working and paradev is added as an alias for it, the FAQ says; Homebrew installs also keep working.
- Other changes in desktop v2.0.0 include an Electron upgrade from 41.10.7 to 44.9.3, launching pdev in cloud workspaces behind a pdev-agent flag, Gemini 4 Argon support in Cursor Agent, and a new requirement for a contributor license agreement on pull requests.
- The project README describes Paradev as a way to run Claude Code, Codex or another CLI agent with terminals, code review and browser previews in one workspace, with macOS as the primary target, an experimental Linux AppImage and no Windows build yet.
- The company states that hundreds of thousands of developers in 180 countries and one in eight Fortune 500 companies have used the product; that figure is the company's own claim.
In the source’s words
“Our old name was shared by many existing products and companies, so we had been looking for a name we can build an enduring company on.”
“Run Claude Code, Codex, or another CLI agent with terminals, code review, and browser previews in one workspace.”
What we have not verified
- We did not install or run Paradev desktop v2.0.0.
- The funding amount, lead investor and usage figures come only from the company's own announcement; we found no regulatory filing or investor statement confirming them.
- We did not check that every old superset.sh link and Homebrew install redirects or updates as the FAQ describes.
