What each product is

Runway is a generation studio: its pricing page lists its own Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0 video models next to third-party ones such as Kling 4.0, Seedance 2.5 and Nano Banana Pro, plus 4K upscaling, music, voice and sound-effect generation, and Runway MCP on Pro.

invideo is an AI video editor: its plans list a timeline editor, multiplayer editing, professional colour, audio and 3D tools, access to its frontier agents (Lite on Starter; Lite, Pro and Ultra on Plus and Max) and Seedance models. For Runway's full credit table, see Runway pricing explained.

invideo shows its annual prices as "50% off" and "Save $120 per seat compared to monthly" (Starter) and "Save $360" (Plus), so the discount is the annual-billing rate, with no end date shown. Sources: Runway pricing, invideo pricing, both read Nov 3, 2026.

What a credit buys

Runway publishes per-model rates: Gen-4.5 costs 60 credits per 5 seconds and Aleph 2.0 costs 140 credits per 5 seconds; Kling 4.0 at 1080p is listed at 118 credits per 5 seconds, 89 during the current discount. On Standard and Pro, monthly credits do not roll over; Max credits roll over one month; extra credits can be bought from 1,000 at a time.

invideo's FAQ says credits are used across the platform and that generative models are billed at their original API pricing; its plan cards give examples such as "~15 Seedance 2 fast videos" for Starter's 400 credits. The FAQ also says invideo may update credit costs at any time; we could not read its answer on whether unused credits roll over, so that is Not verified.

Our arithmetic from Runway's rates: Standard's 625 credits cover about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 (625 ÷ 12 credits per second), or about 22 seconds of Aleph 2.0. invideo does not publish a fixed per-second rate, so we cannot compute the same figure for it.

Free options

Runway's Free plan is $0 with 125 one-time credits, a selection of generative models and 5GB of storage. invideo's pricing page, read Nov 3, lists Starter, Plus and Max (plus business plans) and no free plan; we have not confirmed whether invideo offers a free tier elsewhere, so treat that as Not verified.

Promos with end dates

  • Runway: 25% off Kling 4.0 generations "until November 30" (2026), shown on Standard, Pro and Max.
  • Runway Enterprise: "Enterprises get up to 2 months of usage free. Sign by 12/31" (see Runway's terms).
  • invideo: the "50% off" label is the annual-billing price against monthly; no end date is shown, so we do not treat it as a time-limited promo.
  • invideo image offer: a banner reads "Nano Banana 2.1, Ideogram 4.5 & many more image models Unlimited for 30 days", "Applicable on all annual plans"; no end date is shown.

Seats and teams

invideo prices per seat: Starter allows up to 5 seats, Plus up to 10 plus 10 free guest seats with 190 credits each, and Max up to 20 plus 20 guest seats. SOC 2 and SSO are listed on invideo Enterprise. Runway's individual plans list project limits (up to 3 projects on Standard, 5 on Pro) and sells team and enterprise plans separately; we did not read its team prices.

Which to pick when

  • Pick Runway if you want to generate shots with Gen-4.5 or Aleph, or several third-party models in one place, and you want published credits-per-second rates.
  • Pick invideo if you want an editor that assembles a finished video with agents, and a team of several seats on one plan.
  • Start on Runway Free to test generation before paying; invideo had no free plan on the page we read.
