What’s new

Kling 4.0 officially launched on Oct 15, 2026, according to Kuaishou's Oct 16 press release: steadier large-scale motion, native 30-second clips, up to 15 reference assets and 10 keyframes, and 10-bit HDR. On Oct 23 Luma added it inside Luma. Pricing figures here come from a third-party guide.

  • Oct 15 (announced Oct 16): Kling 4.0 launched. Kuaishou says it handles intense motion and complex camera work more steadily, generates up to 30 seconds in one pass, accepts up to 15 reference assets (10 images, 5 videos, 7 subjects) and up to 10 keyframes, and outputs up to 10-bit HDR.
  • The Kling homepage promotes 'All-New Kling 4.0'.
  • Oct 23: Luma announced Kling 4.0 is available to every Luma customer.
  • Luma describes Kling 4.0 as built for fast action, directed camera work (tracking, orbits, push-ins), more expressive faces and on-screen text that stays put, with text-to-video and image-to-video in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and 21:9.
  • Kuaishou says 4K, 1080p and 21:9 output, longer video extension and API access for enterprises and developers are coming soon, and that Kling 4.0 is integrated with Kling MCP and CLI.

How to set it up: Try Kling 4.0

Steps come from the vendor's own pages or docs. We have not run them ourselves.

  1. Use Kling directly

The Kling homepage offers a Create Now button. We did not test sign-up or credits.

  2. Or use it inside Luma

Per Luma, open a board, choose Kling 4.0 for the shot that needs movement, and describe the shot.

  3. Judge the take

Check whether the subject holds shape through the move and refine your prompt rather than regenerating blindly.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Focus on motion and camera work
  • Available through more than one product
  • Supports four aspect ratios

Cons

  • Plans are credit-based and the offers change often (third-party guide lists Standard 660 credits, Pro 3,000, Premier 8,000)
  • Several headline features are labelled coming soon in the press release (4K, video extension, API)
  • Capabilities come from Luma's description, not our testing

Alternatives and comparisons
